Blooming Morbidity

acrylic paint with graphite on a 12” x 36” canvas.

“Blooming Morbidity” walks the line between beauty and unease. Soft blues stretch upward like tall, delicate flowers, while splashes of red pulse subtly in the background. Though the piece feels airy and inviting at first glance, the bloom-like forms suggest skulls—evoking the duality of life and death, fragility and strength. It becomes a quiet statement on hidden depression—how even the most graceful exteriors can mask deeper, darker emotions beneath the surface.
